What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

We’re no stranger to fine jewelry designer Stephanie Gottlieb. She created a custom engagement ring for one of our contributing editors, Amanda Jones Vaughan, went viral for supplying Taylor Swift with a diamond “87” necklace that the singer sported during the Super Bowl, and co-hosted a New York Bridal Fashion Week event with us earlier this year. And today, she’s sharing her Dream Registry with us.

Stephanie and Brett Gottlieb, a partner and managing director of acquisitions at DRA Advisors, first met in the fifth grade and then attended both middle and high school in Scarsdale together. The pair only began seeing each other romantically during their senior year of high school, and after eight years together, he proposed. “Brett woke me up early the morning of a trip to LA. . . I would visit Brett at college while he was at Occidental, so we had a lot of great memories there,” she explains. “That morning, he woke me up with a Cartier box, which instantly perked me up.” Inside was a rose gold Cartier Love bracelet with “BG ♡ SG April 26, 2012.” Naturally, she asked what the date meant, and he replied, “It’s the day I asked you to marry me,” and pulled out a rose gold split shank engagement ring with a round diamond. “At the time, I was working for an esteemed diamond wholesale company in NYC, and Brett had worked with my team to execute the ring without me knowing! These were my first two pieces of rose gold jewelry—and where my love for rose gold started!”

The couple wed on January 26, 2013, at Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico. Stephanie wore an Alita Graham dress from Kleinfeld’s. “It was a princess dress with sweetheart neckline and beaded belt detail, very of the time,'” she shares.

More than 11 years later, Stephanie describes her aesthetic as “feminine, playful, and classic with pops of color and personality” and admits that her style has shifted in the past 12 months. “As I get older, I gravitate towards more neutral spaces, with less pattern, and small moments of color.  I like to feel calm and serene in my spaces, so I tend to use whites and creams and find little ways to imbue my personality with accessories.”

Merging her style with Brett’s has gotten easier over the years. “Our aesthetics are very similar, but he definitely has an affinity for darker, more masculine colors,” Stephanie explains. “We’ve compromised by using black as hardware, trims, and in specific areas as a feature, while maintaining the brightness and airiness of the lighter neutrals in the rest of our spaces.”

For her Dream Registry, Stephanie mixes fashion with function and highlighted the Emm Kuo Lemon clutch—an ode to her Italian dream wedding destination—Estelle Colored Glass stemware, and the Danarys New York Micaela dress. “If I could dream up my perfect rehearsal dinner dress, this would be it,” she says of her last pick. “Staying on theme, classic white for the bridal moment, but with a colorful pop of personality!”

The fine jewelry creative director leaves us with advice for couples making their own Over The Moon Registries: “What’s challenging about registering is that it’s often at a time in your life when you may not have a home to entertain in, and by the time you do, your taste may have changed. My suggestion is to register for classic dinnerware items that don’t have too much pattern, so they can be used for many years to come. Pair these classic staples with linens and glassware that add more personality.”
